First Night Warrenton has become a treasured community tradition: a New Year's Eve family celebration of the arts, featuring a variety of outstanding live performers at various indoor locations in Historic Old Town Warrenton. First Night Warrenton provides a special New Year's evening for thousands of families and visitors to our community.
Volunteering provides a great way to participate and support this community event. Enthusiastic First Night volunteers come together for a few hours to supervise event locations and welcome guests, distribute candles and materials, set up and clean up, and assist performers. Many volunteers make First Night Warrenton part of their holiday tradition. As this special event grows the need for additional volunteers grows as well. In addition to enjoying a great New Year's Eve with friends and neighbors, volunteering for a shift earns you free admission for the entire evening.
We welcome volunteers of all ages--individuals, families and groups. There are roles for adults, teens, and youth, and for families to work together.
This year we are reaching out to businesses, community groups, churches, and all organizations to volunteer. Teams can host an event site throughout the evening, providing them not only a fun "base" for the evening, but also special mention in First Night advertising and the opportunity to share information about their organization with a display.
